Project 333 Season 3 Spring Swap

The weather has finally improved here in the UK, after an unseasonally cold April. My first collection for Season 3 had a lot of winter pieces in it, to get me through the cold days. I have no need for these anymore (I hope), so it's time to do a once-only swap of several items in my wardrobe, to make room for some lighter items of clothing.

Items that are leaving:

Items that are coming in:

You may notice that I haven't deviated from my colour scheme. I didn't intentionally go with the same types of colours, but these form the bulk of the clothing I own. I think I went through quite a long purple/blue/pink phase! Compare that to the 2 green items I have in my entire collection.

I don't mind this at all. It seems that I have found colours that I feel good in, and that suit me.

Here is my revised collection for the remainder of Season 3, May 6th to June 30th.

I'm always a little hesitant to remove my warm items, my scarves, gloves etc., and even more so when I have to decide whether to include them for the next few weeks! I will see how I go without, hopefully the weather will be kind!

I've just joined Instagram, and plan to do a few outfit photos to join in with the Project 333'ers! This will replace my outfit combination grid on here. Come say hi, and welcome in a newbie! My username is beautiful_again

  1. I love your style and the bag is gorgeous. What make is it? Actually I'd better not know because I've committed to not buying clothes for a year!
I'm also in the UK and this week I swapped two pairs of winter boots for sandals and flip flops. I also swapped my winter coat for a light jacket.
I didn't swap any clothes because in April I chose a variety to cover me for all weathers. When its warm I just wear long skirts instead of my jeans but use the same tshirts and cardigans. Like you I stick to similar colours so everything matches.
Enjoy the sunshine, hope it lasts!

  2. I have recently emptied my cold socks drawer for shorts and sunnies. Hurrah for plenty of time in my garden! I have even bought some new T shirts this year, although this may well be my only purchase for some time, as i never seem to buy cloths.

    I do like those tops!

  3. Hey Nicol, thanks for the kind words, and I appreciate you taking the time to read :)
I got it from a charity shop for £4.50, expect it was about £40-50 new (Clarks).
Ah brilliant, sounds like you better predicted the variety of weather. I tend to get attached to my warm items, and didn't feel ready to plan for warmer weather, hence the swap this weekend!
Hope you're enjoying this lovely sunshine!

  4. Hey t, thanks for reading!
ooo time in the garden. I really want a garden of my own, or some kind of outside space. Enjoy it while the sun lasts! :)

  5. Its lovely having a garden that's mine to do with as i please, it had a few too many paving slabs for my liking when i moved in so I've started to remove them and put in a planting pot which will hopefully grow some lettuce and flowers . Its lovely being able to sit outside in the evening, at this time of year even when you know its going to cost a lot to repair the fence!

  6. Linda, I love reading about your Project 333 experience! Your photos are laid out so nicely; I'd love to learn how you did it. I do my photos in Photoshop, but it takes a lot of time and doesn't look as nice as what you have with the background and borders. But I am no Photoshop expert!

I am doing Project 333 for the first time. I live in a mild climate, but it was still tricky to select garments which would work for April through June, as our summer doesn't really begin until mid-July. I wanted to wear skirts and dresses, so I included some, but haven't worn them much thus far. I think the easiest P333 terms for me would be July-September and January-March, as the weather is more consistent then.

Challenging though Project 333 may be, I am learning a lot about myself and my wardrobe in the process. I really don't need nearly as many clothes as I have. I'm still feeling like 33 isn't enough, but I don't need over 200, either!

  7. Hey Debbie, thanks for much for stopping by and commenting! Glad to have you here.

I use Ribbet (ribbet.com) to make collages. It's completely free, and very flexible, you can customise no. of rows and columns, colours, backgrounds etc etc and style of collage too. I upload my photos as they come off the camera (12MP 3.5mb file size) and stick them straight in the collage, and Ribbet does all the work. Ribbet Premium is free at the moment too, so loads of features! it also does general photo edits, but I have needed them much less since I replaced my camera with a DSLR. Another free site is picmonkey.com (I haven't used it much).

It can be tricky to select clothes that will last for 3 whole months, and that's why a little flexibility won't hurt for the very occasional swaps. It does get easier after the first season, so I would encourage you to continue.

You might be interested to know that I almost feel 33 is too many this season, as I have far fewer accessories this time (as in warm coat, scarf, gloves, all that) because the weather is warmer now.

It's great that you're learning about yourself, and that's exactly what these projects are for! Keep up the good work on your blog too, I'm following your journey!
